I'm Back Home

Well.. I'm back. Reached home about 3am this morning after supper. First thing I had upon reaching back was meat. Black pepper steak, which was a disappointment!!!

My room now is in a mess with all my bags strewn all over. Korean trinkets lying on the floor. Dirty clothes here and there... Shit. Post trip is always a chore.

Pics are up in my Mac but also in a mess. And some are still stuck in his laptop. Technical glitch there. Will properly upload once all in order.

Just some preview here:

This is me when we have just reached Incheon and waiting for our bus to Seoul.

On our first walk along Cheong Gye River. It's more like their drain but they have just conserved and filtered it so the 'drain' has clean water for the people to be able to actually have their picnics there.

Firt touristy trip to their DMZ border of North & South Korea. Photography rules were very strict here so we missed out on taking pictures at the border viewing point and the 3rd infiltration tunnel. This station was where they have to go through immigration to get from South to North.

Later at night, we visited the Seoul Tower.

The next day we visited Lotte World. Wheee..

This is us at the Boryeung Mud Festival over at Daecheon Beach.

The 2 hour train ride back to Seoul. Where we did not buy tickets in advance and had to stand. Well we ended up sitting on the carpet floor of the cafeteria coach. Then everynoe else who had standing tickets followed and started to sit as well. Hahaha. Typically Singaporeans of us.. Just settle your bum anywhere as long as you get to sit.

This is during the cruise along Hangang River.

Group photos:

During the exhibition opening.

Group dinner at Sejong.

This is the group of student volunteers from Seoul National University.

The Malays.. from Malaysia and Singapore.
Us at the hostel area.

Us during one of the meal time.

Last group photo at the National Art Museum which was in the middle of a forested area and right beside Seoul Land which was much2 better than Lotte World. Damnit!!

Ok that's all I could compile at the moment.

Anyway, we also received THE letter from HDB. Well we got it.. Yeap yeap. Queue no 41. We'll probably receive the invite and letters all that in August. Ngoi!!! We're gonna be neighbours after all.. Hehe..

Been eating non stop la.. I so so need to get back on my diet.. Shit Shit.. hahaha. Ok gtg get ready for my co D&D now.. Urghh. Need sleep....

Met friends from Malaysia, zumsteg23's opening went well and now I'm blogging on my iPod touch in the seminar cos they're presenting in Korean and I'm falling asleep. Bleargh 2 more days and I have to say bye to the Kimchi land! Sadness...

Day 8

Lotte World was super fun. Pics will have to wait when I get back.

Yesterday, we made our stop at the Boryeoung Mud Festival at Daecheon Beach. Hahaha.. We painted our whole body in mud and the water was superbly cold and totally crowded.

Anyway off to KEPCO to set up zumsteg's artwork now.

Laters dudesss..

Day 5

I haven't had a proper poop. Hahhaa...

Yesterday we went down for the DMZ tour it was quite interesting actually. You get to learn so much about the Norh and South Korean history. Had a trek through the 3rd infiltration tunnel and we ended up 74m below ground level. Natural aircon workng at its best.

Had another short hike up during the night to Seoul Tower. Worth the walk and worth the money. View is superb as compared to our Carlsberg Tower in Sentosa.. I think cos I have never ever been up there actualy.

Anyway, heading down to Lotte World now.

Day 3

Day 3 in Seoul and my diet plan went down the drain. Well I don't think I overate or anything but it is so difficult to find food that I'm comfortable with. The next best thing to halal food... seafood.

Everything here is mostly written in their language and quite difficult to converse with them in English. Well, day 3 down and 9 more to go. Heading to the border tour tomorrow like Alina suggested, then prob Lotte world on Friday and maybe the Mud Fest on the 12th!!

Ok goona get my shower. Had a long day today shopping and that was only 1 shopping centre...

Alina.. I found your Hard Rock. It's in Itaewon. I'll try to get you the guitar magnet ya!!

Signing off.... Aien in Korea!!

It's Sunday

Well well well.. Finally Sunday. Checking in my bags tonight and flying off tomorrow. Woweee.. No proper itinerary yet but we'll have 2 days there to settle down and get our bearings rite..

Today is also the weigh in but I might have to give that a miss. Shucks. So much to pack. But I think I may have lost 5kg now.. Unless the weighing machine is spoilt. Just hope I didn't pile on the weight I have lost.. Ok lah.. got to continue packing. Will try to drop in again before I fly.
