Thanks to Nic.
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "how heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
"In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. "
"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."
"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. "
"Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

YO...U'VE BEEN TAGGED!!! READ MY BLOG FOR DETAILS, ouuuhhh yeaaaahh.
i believe the Mats coined the fundamental principles of Relax, "Lu Relaks sua,Relaks Jack,Tangkap su & of coz the evergreen Relaks one corner" so with this in mind i advise my malay community to dig deep into their mats heritage n u will find the jewel that will avoid u from getting stress out with worldly burdens......if u ask a mat, "how heavy is this glass of water?"
he wud propably say,"Lu relaks sua Jack,Lu carik one corner pegi tangkap su...tu air bak sini kasi aku minum."
loosely translated,"U relax Jack,go find one corner into oblivion...that glass of water pass to me i'll drink it."

"Relaks" indeed under-rated....People around us get angry easily and at the same time we do not know which outlet or how to express it and channel it into something positive. So if you wondering why, a lot of the mat rock song are about club jiwa luka, patah hati, bingit dengan goverment politics...they found the way to jam it out under the void deck and be positive....ROC!!!!
It's interesting how people interprete the word 'relax'. Thru culture ... thru dictionary context ... thru belief, value in life, experinces ... n the list goes on. I think, it's about recognising the amount of energy whiff off at that moment n pick it up again, when needed to... interestg topic.
Hmm...interesting topic indeed. No wonder they pick this topic and made it into a hit song back in th 80's both in English and Malay! Frankie Goes to Hollywood have their own rendition of the same title *giggle* and the Malays were represented by BlackDogBone very own version. But I suspect the latter's version are perfectly penned for us Malay to ponder upon! heh heh
